Your ControlTM Prepaid Mastercard can be used to make purchases in stores, online, over the phone or anywhere else Debit Mastercard is accepted. You can also enjoy online bill pay services & the ability to send money to family and friends who also have a Control card for no charge.

Shop in stores, online, or over the phone

Grocery stores, gas stations, retail stores, online or over the phone, the ControlTM card has you covered. Use your card for everyday purchases at any one of the millions of places Debit Mastercard is accepted.

  • When shopping in store, you can choose either Debit or Credit when you checkout. If you choose Debit you may be asked to enter your 4 digit PIN.
  • When shopping on the Internet or over the phone, you may be asked for the 3-digit CVV number on the back of your debit card to complete your purchase.
  • When buying gas, we recommend you pay inside the gas station. If you pay at the pump, gas stations may place a hold on the funds in your account until they know the final amount owed.

Withdraw Cash at ATMs nationwide

You can use your Control card to withdraw cash at any ATM showing the Mastercard®, Cirrus®, or PULSE® acceptance marks. Fees may apply

Tip: Get cash back without paying a fee! When making purchases at many retailers such as grocery stores, just select "DEBIT," enter your PIN, and the cashier will give you the cash back you requested.

Send money to other cardholders

It doesn't cost you extra to transfer money online or via text message to family or friends who have a Control card or another Netspend prepaid card. All you need is your friend's card username or account number. Then add your friend (or family) to your list of friends. It's that simple. Learn how.

Spread the wealth. When you refer friends, coworkers or family and the person you refer loads at least $40 in cash or Direct Deposit to their new Control Card Account, you both get up to a $20 credit! The person you refer must activate and verify their identity to get the $20 credit.1

Pay your bills

Call your biller and use your Control card number to conveniently pay your bills over the phone. The Control card also offers the MoneyGram® ExpressPayment® Service for a fee.

1 A cardholder may receive an unlimited number of Refer-a-Friend rewards while program is available. No rewards credited to either party if referred individual had a Netspend card that was used for a value load, purchase, cash withdrawal, or incurred a balance inquiry fee at any time during the 180 calendar days before the day the $40 load requirement is fully met. Only cash reloads and direct deposits count towards the minimum load requirement. Allow 2 business days for $20 credit to appear on each Card Account. If a cardholder accrues $600 or more in Refer-a-Friend rewards in a calendar year, Netspend will mail cardholder an IRS Form 1099-MISC reflecting the total Refer-a-Friend rewards for such calendar year. Cardholder acknowledges that by referring a friend through this program, cardholder is releasing non-public information. Referred person acknowledges that payment of the referral may result in the cardholder's knowledge of referred person establishing a Card Account with us.
